If you have GPS on your phone and you can use it with Google maps, well then good for you.
My Location (beta) for Google Maps mobile is for the rest of us. My phone only has GPRS so I can’t access it to use with Google maps mobile. So until now, I had to type in my location just to get started with Google maps. Now with “My Location” my phone will triangulate where I am using nearby cell towers. AWESOME! Now Google maps is useful!
Good morning Thanksgiving day. Good morning parades and football. Most of all, good morning Gulf of Mexico. I am totally going sailing this morning and stuffing myself this evening!
I have pictures to post, I will get around to posting them later today or tomorrow morning.
Just got in to Tampa and I am waiting to taxi to the gate. I was happy that it is 80 degrees out right now but not surprised. It’s 8:00 P.M. local time and I am beat. What is more depressing is that I left Oakland when it was dark and I landed in Tampa and it’s dark. Uhg, I hate that. It took me 11 hours to make it across the country. So now all that is left is to get my bags and go to sleep.
So I think I am over Atlanta because I think I see the crazy freeway circles around the city. Anyway, I was going to try and take a nap but I keep finding myself just staring out the window and trying to guess the lighted cities. I will never know if I am right though. I guess it’s kind of a pointless game that is wasting precious nap time but I can’t help myself.
So I am here in Charlotte, NC waiting for my plane at gate D2 and I realize that Charlotte doesn’t have an airport. What Charlotte has is a mall with airplane parking! This airport has a Brookstone, Bank of America branch, and even a Sharper Image. I think it’s kind of stupid because the FAA has made a one bag maximum for carry on a regulation and I don’t know about anyone else out there, but I know that I can’t fit anything else in to my carry on bag.
So, I am somewhere over something and it is time to share my experience so far. I was booked for seat 35A, the last seat row in the plane but I gave it up. There was a family of three that booked last minute and it would have been me at the window, a little 6 year old girl in the middle, the mom on the isle, and the dad in seat 34E (the middle). The dad asked if I were willing to switch with him so that he could be with his family and I couldn’t say no. How can anyone say no to a family wanting to be together. So I switched and was wedged between 2 people that should have bought 2 tickets each. The damn armrest wouldn’t even go down! At least karma was on my side because the flight attendant saw this and moved me to seat 24F which is a window seat. A bonus was that the other people in row 24 with me are small petite ladies that are very interesting to converse with! YAY!
I think it is time for some shut eye. I want to try and squeeze a nap in.
Welcome to Phoenix International Airport. Local time is 8:30 and it is 60 degrees out. Two hour wait at one of the most miserable airports. Ask anyone that has had to spend a layover or two in this miserable place. There is not much to say about it. I can’t sleep because they keep calling out for passengers on the damn intercom every 5 or so minutes and I can’t get on the internet because I am not going to pay $5 for less than two hours of use. Stupid Airport…
So, I’m 30,000+ feet somewhere over the California/Nevada border and
blogging. I have to admit, it has been a rough morning so far. I got up
at like 4 A.M. took a shower, shaved, locked the house down and ended
up getting a cab to the airport. The cab driver was the same driver I
had last time I fly out of SFO with Lisa. Strange. Anyway, the
Thanksgiving flight traffic is hell. If you don’t believe me, try
getting through security in less than an hour. I got to the Airport at
5 A.M. and barely made it on the plane that departed at 6 A.M. I am
glad I got started early.
I must say that the view amazing.
The mountains have just started getting little snow caps. Maybe this
year I am going to actually touch snow for the first time. I am 23 and
I have never touch snow. The closest I have been to snow is seeing from
Denver Airport last December.
This view is making me want to
get those flight lessons even more. I downloaded X-Plane for my mac and
I think I going to play it now… I will check back in a little later.
Oh Jamba Juice on New Montgomery in San Francisco, why do you continue to disappoint me?
Today I ordered the Fit N’ Fruitful and needless to say, it is pretty bland. This is quite disappointing because this has happened to me about 4 times nows from the same place. I have had the same drink from other Jamba Juice locations around the bay and they have been the complete opposite, just bursting with flavor. I am getting mad and I think that Jamba’s corporate office needs to know about it. grrr…
Today, as Lisa and I were walking through Petco, we decided that it is time for Monkey (my ball python) to get an upgrade. He lives in a 55 gallon aquarium currently with some nice digs for him to crawl on and under. He seems pretty happy but we have a few issues.
First, Monkey is getting bigger and stronger. He is now able to lift the granite tile that I use to weight his screen top down. This is no good because we now have to pile a lot more stuff on the top of his home to prevent him from getting out.
Second, Monkey has a fountain that he loves to death but the fountain needs power. I cut a hole in the screen mesh to fit the plug through. Well last month Monkey tried to get out and cut himself pretty bad trying to squeeze his fat ass through the whole in the mesh. $200, 4 stitches, and a shot later we are re thinking this whole for his fountain.
Lastly, we want to give him a place to borrow so we are thinking of upgrading him from Astroturf to Desert Snow and we need to put some interior upgrades in place.
So, what I am going to do is build a sliding mesh top that locks so that we don’t need to use any heavy objects thereby increasing our access to him for handling. The top will have a cable access for his fountain and the thermostat probe as well as anything else we want to add in the future. I am going to get rid of his heating pad and upgrade to a true under tank heating solution that will have a digital controlled temperature regulator. His “toys” will be upgraded too.
I will be posting pictures and updates as I do the upgrade so everyone can see what I am doing and how everything is going.
