I had this weird compulsion to get nerdy and talk on the radio. So, I looked up some local repeaters and dusted off the old handheld only to discover that the thing was dead. Well of coarse it’s dead, it hasn’t been used in like a year, what did I expect?! duh! So, I decided to lookup echolink for the mac and I found EchoMac. I installed it and set my station up once again except this time I have thousands of dollars in audio equipment to play with
So needless to say, I have a Groovetubes GT55 mic connected to a BlueTube preamp connected to a MindPrint DTC with EQ and compression running in to a MOTU 896HD A-D converter. I sound SWEET!!!
I connected to Dave’s repeater in New Port Richey, FL to talk to some old friends back home and although I still have yet to get in contact with Sean (N4SCF) or Dave (KG4YZY) to tell them about next week, I did talk to Scott (KI4GAC) for a bit and it was pretty cool to here him again.
I am such a HAM Radio Nerd…
