Mike’s Backup Carbon

So, I have been looking at the new Time Machine program for Mac OS X Leopard and the architecture is really awesome. It seems to be setup like a modified Subversion repository. It syncs all changed files in the User’s directory tree and creates meta data for what changed every hour. I decided that my program (MikesBackup) needs some revamping so I am working on a new project called MikesBackupCarbon.

MikesBackupCarbon will do almost the same thing except it will image a bootable copy of the drive and incorporate a restore function that will mirror the drive back as well as incremental restores.

If there is anyone that happens upon this blog and wants to join the project please don’t hesitate to send me an email.
