Last night was dinner at the movies. Lisa and I decided to checkout the Parkway Theater in Oakland. I have to admit, the experience was better than I had thought it would be. It was a 21 and older show and the theater wasn’t packed. Lisa and I ordered the nachos with steak along with a pitcher and settled in on a couch in the theater.

Now, on to Sweeney Todd… three words – bloody, awesome, and bloody. Go see it because there are no words to describe it!

Needless to say, Lisa and I left the theater with a smile and ready to come back.

It is Christmas Eve and I am in El Paso, TX (the big litter box). I just got finished wrapping Lisa’s last gift of the season and I hope she likes it because odd shapes are a pain to wrap. I would say what it is but she reads this blog too. All the stockings are hung and the house looks like Norman Rockwell painted the plans for it. There are pies and cakes and such strewn about the kitchen and if I could only find some Gingerbread I would make a house.

Just got in to Tampa and I am waiting to taxi to the gate. I was happy that it is 80 degrees out right now but not surprised. It’s 8:00 P.M. local time and I am beat. What is more depressing is that I left Oakland when it was dark and I landed in Tampa and it’s dark. Uhg, I hate that. It took me 11 hours to make it across the country. So now all that is left is to get my bags and go to sleep.

Anyway, I was going to try and take a nap but I keep finding myself just staring out the window and trying to guess the lighted cities. I will never know if I am right though. I guess it’s kind of a pointless game that is wasting precious nap time but I can’t help myself.

This airport has a Brookstone, Bank of America branch, and even a Sharper Image. I think it’s kind of stupid because the FAA has made a one bag maximum for carry on a regulation and I don’t know about anyone else out there, but I know that I can’t fit anything else in to my carry on bag.

So, I am somewhere over something and it is time to share my experience so far. I was booked for seat 35A, the last seat row in the plane but I gave it up. There was a family of three that booked last minute and it would have been me at the window, a little 6 year old girl in the middle, the mom on the isle, and the dad in seat 34E (the middle). The dad asked if I were willing to switch with him so that he could be with his family and I couldn’t say no. How can anyone say no to a family wanting to be together. So I switched and was wedged between 2 people that should have bought 2 tickets each. The damn armrest wouldn’t even go down! At least karma was on my side because the flight attendant saw this and moved me to seat 24F which is a window seat. A bonus was that the other people in row 24 with me are small petite ladies that are very interesting to converse with! YAY!

I think it is time for some shut eye. I want to try and squeeze a nap in.

Welcome to Phoenix International Airport. Local time is 8:30 and it is 60 degrees out. Two hour wait at one of the most miserable airports. Ask anyone that has had to spend a layover or two in this miserable place. There is not much to say about it. I can’t sleep because they keep calling out for passengers on the damn intercom every 5 or so minutes and I can’t get on the internet because I am not going to pay $5 for less than two hours of use. Stupid Airport…

So, I’m 30,000+ feet somewhere over the California/Nevada border and
blogging. I have to admit, it has been a rough morning so far. I got up
at like 4 A.M. took a shower, shaved, locked the house down and ended
up getting a cab to the airport. The cab driver was the same driver I
had last time I fly out of SFO with Lisa. Strange. Anyway, the
Thanksgiving flight traffic is hell. If you don’t believe me, try
getting through security in less than an hour. I got to the Airport at
5 A.M. and barely made it on the plane that departed at 6 A.M. I am
glad I got started early.

I must say that the view amazing.
The mountains have just started getting little snow caps. Maybe this
year I am going to actually touch snow for the first time. I am 23 and
I have never touch snow. The closest I have been to snow is seeing from
Denver Airport last December.

This view is making me want to
get those flight lessons even more. I downloaded X-Plane for my mac and
I think I going to play it now… I will check back in a little later.
